Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and ethical publication process. They are expected to:

• Publication Decisions: Make independent editorial decisions to accept, revise, or reject manuscripts based on scholarly merit and reviewers' recommendations.

• Initial Assessment: Ensure all submissions undergo originality screening and meet the journal's submission requirements before peer review.

• Fair and Unbiased Evaluation: Assess manuscripts solely on their academic quality, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.

• Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, authors, reviewers, and the peer-review process.

• Conflict of Interest: Avoid using unpublished information for personal research and disclose any conflicts of interest. Editors with conflicts must recuse themselves from handling the manuscript.

• Corrections and Retractions: Publish corrections, errata, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

• Publication Ethics: Ensure that all published research complies with internationally accepted ethical standards and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines: https://publicationethics.org/

• Handling Misconduct: Investigate suspected ethical misconduct objectively and take editorial action only when supported by sufficient evidence.

• Competing Interests: Ensure that all competing interests are appropriately disclosed, evaluated, transparently reported, and managed to preserve the integrity, impartiality, and credibility of the review and publication process.
