Abstract

Abstract

This analytical study presents a comparative assessment of Reinforced Concrete (RCC) and Steel structures using AutoCAD 2020 for structural design and visualization. The study evaluates key parameters, including structural strength, durability, aesthetics, material properties, cost implications, design complexity, and construction challenges. Typical structural components, such as columns, beams, and slabs, are modeled using AutoCAD 2020 in accordance with relevant industry standards and applicable building codes. RCC structures are examined for their durability, rigidity, fire resistance, and suitability for conventional construction, whereas Steel structures are assessed for their high strength-to-weight ratio, flexibility, faster construction, and suitability for long-span applications. AutoCAD 2020 facilitates accurate structural modeling, design modification, visualization, and detailed drafting, enabling a systematic comparison of both structural systems. The study also evaluates the effectiveness of AutoCAD 2020 in improving the efficiency, accuracy, and precision of structural design processes. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights into the advantages and limitations of RCC and Steel structures, supporting informed decisions regarding material selection based on structural requirements, cost, durability, construction time, and design complexity. Overall, the study highlights the importance of computer-aided design tools in modern structural engineering and their role in enhancing structural planning and design.
